The task was to plan and install a lighting system for the newly built mezzanine warehouse that should be unique in terms of energy efficiency and assembly efficiency.
In January 2015 the time had come. More than 1000 EURORAIL LED light bars with and without motion detectors were installed on a storage area of over 6400 square meters on two levels. And this with an extremely small amount of work. With its simple connector system, the EURORAIL LED light fixtures enable up to 20 units to be connected in series.
The first fixture is connected to the power supply, and all other lights are connected to the previous one. Costly and time-consuming electrical installation work is no longer necessary. The installation can therefore be carried out by anyone. An electrical company only has to install sockets on the first light of a light line.
The magnet system developed by BETTERLIGHTS made assembly much easier on the ground floor and first floor. A magnet has the holding power of 18 kg. A fixture is being attached to two magnets with clips. This system enables Knoll Autoteile to easily adapt their lighting system to changing shelf arrangements.
More than 120 side aisles were equipped with fixtures with motion sensors and the main aisle with lights without motion sensors. The light switches off 90 seconds after the last movement.
This enables electricity savings of more than 90% compared to conventional lighting systems.
The warranty of the LED fixtures is 3 years. All LED products used are extremely low-maintenance.
Energy savings compared to conventional lighting: due to the motion detector technology, over 90% or 270,000 kWh per year.
This corresponds to the amount of electricity produced by a photovoltaic system of 270 kWp.
